August stories/rewards will fall off at the end of September to make room for October rewards.
Harvest is in full swing. The grain is out of the fields, as is most of the corn. That leaves the beets. And if it rains, there will be patches of mud on the roads for a while. Mom and I mark the seasons by what the farmers around here are doing. We’re just hopeful they have good crops this year.
Mom and I recently went out to dinner. We split a sirloin steak and some chicken strips. We enjoyed the dinner rolls, and we each got a drink instead of sharing one. I am so blessed she is still around. There have been a few doctor visits, and another one is scheduled in the very near future. All I can do is be thankful I still have her. So I appreciate the days we go out to lunch together, and I always check on her in the middle of the week. Sometimes we even see each other several days in a row, depending on the circumstances.
