I thought you might be interested in getting a little update. Last time I included stories as I thought my life was pretty boring. So this time I’ll try to keep it short and informational.
This winter resulted in a record snow accumulation for the area where I live. Plows were working frequently. One night they plowed my street with the unfortunate consequence of sealing me in the parking lot along with the other vehicles. Many of us had to find some way of shoveling a path just to back out. And I helped a neighbor who had gotten stuck in ruts in the street.
Temps dropped to near -20 in places. This affected my ex in the rehab center as they ended up with busted pipes. They had to move her to a different room while they made repairs. But they were not the only ones who suffered as my mom had frozen pipes to her sewer lines. That was a rather expensive undertaking to thaw them out. They are still not buried beneath the frost line, but that would be a major expenditure on her part. She is considering the fall while wondering how much longer she can afford to put it off.
My ex is doing well although she will need cataract surgery. I guess that happens to people as they get older. With the amount of time I spend staring at a computer screen, I wonder how vulnerable my eyes are becoming before needing repairs. Sometimes they seem to be struggling, and I wonder if that’s because I’ve been doing a lot of writing.
This year I’m trying to work on my procrastinating, although at times I put it off. I’m trying to spend more time each day writing, although it can get easy to burn out. Sometimes I need a break, but I’m trying to watch my finances and spend wisely. So I don’t always buy an extra tank of gas to take a little drive to recharge. My dad was like that as he tended to stay close to home. But then it seems he was always working on vehicles to keep them running. Meanwhile I’m also working on my health by trying to walk more.
I finally got my medical bills paid off. That just means I have a credit card I’m now trying to pay down. And of course tax season is upon us. I’ll end up paying more this year because of a lack of insurance. I hope you folks are in a better situation than I am when tax time hits your house.
Sales at my store really slowed down during the winter months. Other producers had similar struggles. I know you have varied tastes, and I do try to see what sells so as to give you enjoyable content. But I also try to give you a nice variety. Sales were much better for February and I appreciate it. It means a lot to me that you value my writing abilities enough to pay for some of my stories which helps with my expenses. For that I will always be grateful.
Spring is coming; there is plenty of snow in the mountains; and they are pushing extra water down the river to prepare for spring runoff. There is a dam nearby I enjoy visiting with a spill way that makes a hole in the top of the lake when there is extra water. I hope to get over there to take pictures if the water level gets high enough. But for now let me include three of previous years showing how high and how low it can get.

Thanks for visiting the library. I’ve been trying to put up a mixture of old and new stories. But lately there have been a lot of newer stories I’ve posted. I guess that is to your advantage. So long as I continue to enjoy writing, I shall endeavor to keep putting stories out, some of which I hope you will enjoy. Thank you so much for stopping by. Take care…
