October 23, 2012 Update 0 (0)

Last week my mom drove down for a visit. I met her at our favorite motel four hours away so she would not have to make the entire trip in one day. We shared the price of the room, took a dip in the hot tub and pool, and enjoyed the morning breakfast at the motel. We also enjoyed looking at the river in town.

Here on this side of the state we drove to one of the farms and looked at the tables of vegetables they sell. It never ceases to amaze me the type of things that can be grown. There are different shapes and sizes and they all look fascinating. I always take pictures when we go over. Mom ended up buying 25 pounds of potatoes and 10 pounds of apples.

While mom was in town we went and saw the ex. Mary is about the same although she was having trouble with her laptop getting onto the Internet. They are working on her section of the building so she can get a signal without having to leave her room.

Life here is about the same. I may not be doing much more traveling this year as the roads will start getting snow in the higher elevations. In fact I was reading how some roads in Yellowstone National Park have been closed because of snow. I expect there will be snow in my area in the next several weeks.

The year will soon be drawing to a close. I hope everyone enjoys the coming holiday season. Thanks for stopping by…

September 24, 2012 Hitting 700 posts 0 (0)

7 months ago on February 24 I hit 600 posts. With the posting of my story My Drowning Master I have now reached 700. Of the last 100 story posts 42 were actually written during the last 7 months, with several more that were written that have yet to be posted.

A lot of the newer stories reveal that I have branched out into other dryer themes. Most have a common denominator being “a female in some sort of peril”. But I still enjoy writing the erotic tale that takes place mostly underwater.

My 700th post – My Drowning Master – was written for someone in particular back in February of last year. I intended to add more chapters to it but lost interest and never got back to it. After looking at it again I decided I could just go ahead and post it. I will warn you that it does have a similar feel to my Treachery in the Mediterranean story. Both are based on an old Marquis story that inspired me that I read several years ago.

I have been picking and choosing to post older stories in my archives that I’ve never posted before. Some of them I have been editing heavily; others not so much. You may have noticed some AF picture stories that I have never posted before that show I went back and edited them recently before putting them out. It is the perfectionist in me trying to decide how much I need to tweak a story before putting it out.

Some of you may have noticed a couple of new names this year that I have been writing for. Dorothy and Zilpha are half-sisters who live in the United Kingdom. Both have a wide range of peril fantasies, although Dorothy also shares some of my drowning fantasies. They have been great fun to write for and I love them both. If you enjoy their stories, then be looking for a new category for them sometime in the near future. In the meantime feel free to use the search function with either name to see what stories I have written for and about them.

I’ve noticed some stories do not seem to be well received and that is ok. I am well aware that my stories reach out to a wide variety of tastes. I don’t expect everyone to like everything I post; that would be unrealistic. But I do hope that something I have posted in the library catches your eye and gives each one of you something pleasant and enjoyable to read.

The rating system and the comments help give me an indication of where I may have succeeded in some areas. Some stories have received a lot of positive ratings, making me feel good that I did hit a home run with that particular story. Other ratings tell me it was not their style or type of story and I understand that. I appreciate your understanding that we all have different likes and dislikes. What appeals to you might not appeal to someone else and vice versa.

I am still keeping track of the requests I get. I cannot promise I will get to each and every one as there are some stories that simply do not attract my attention. On the other hand, I have been hit with sudden inspiration from time to time and have been known to pump out a story in an afternoon or evening. I’m sure other authors would agree that is how inspiration can work sometimes. So that is why I keep a file of story ideas. I never know when inspiration might strike as I go back through them again.

As always, I want to thank you for stopping by. There are many places to surf on the Internet. The fact that you stopped here means a lot to me. I do hope there is a story somewhere in my library that turns out to be an enjoyable read for you.

Summer is over! Enjoy the fall and the changing of the leaves and the coming holidays! Stay safe and healthy! And thanks for stopping by…

August 24 2012 Back from a trip 0 (0)

I just returned from a trip up to see my sister, mother and grandmother. Overall it was enjoyable. They were all happy to see me and I was glad for that.

I took a longer trip back home just to make more of a vacation out of it. I saw some incredible scenery. I always enjoy driving and seeing the countryside as I go from point A to point B. But the return was not without its share of issues…

There was a resort town I had to pass through. Traffic was bumper to bumper and it took about 6 minutes just to travel about a mile on a two-lane road. Lesson learned: do not travel through there during the summer months.

I got a room for the night but had not counted on an amorous couple in the room next to me. Their loose headboard kept banging on my wall as they went at it like bunnies. I even heard her groans as their bed squeaked something fierce. There was no doubting what was taking place in that room.

This went on throughout the night, waking me at 2 am and then again around 4. I was tempted to knock on their door. But it occurred to me that unlikely as it might be… what if they invited me to join them?? I know I write about such erotic things, but my real life is rated G… something you could bring your kids and grandmother to watch. I would be like a dog chasing a car… what do you do once you catch it?? I wouldn’t have had a clue what to do next!!! So I didn’t disturb them.

I finally decided to leave the motel about 4:15 am and drive on home. I stopped along the way for a bite of breakfast and a rest stop so as not to fall asleep behind the wheel. But the whole time I felt a discomfort brewing up in my shoulder.

When I got home I could hear my mom’s voice telling me I should go get it checked out. So I did walk over to the emergency room. They were able to ascertain that it was not my heart or lungs… but it still throbs. Maybe I slept on it wrong or maybe it was the stress of the last several hours of my trip. I figure I’ll probably be all right. Besides, I’m 51 and all of my parts are still original equipment minus an appendix that I hear is pretty useless anyway.

…and now for two things library-related…

I bought a scuba diving handbook to skim through. Perhaps it will give me ideas about future stories. I also plan on using it to make sure the technical aspects I may write about are as accurate as possible. It was $4.95 in the bargain book section and it is written by someone who has been diving for over 25 years. I hope his information is accurate.

As for the second thing, I think I will take time off and hope this goofy shoulder feels better. So I probably won’t post any more stories until Monday. But don’t be surprised if I do get inspiration and post something before then, unlikely though that may be.

I hope all your vacations are just as enjoyable – if not more so – than mine was. Have a great Labor Day weekend! Thanks for stopping by…

July 23, 2012 Taking a break 0 (0)

I’ve decided to try taking a break from writing and posting for a week or so. I’m considering it a mental vacation of sorts. I’m not sure how it will work as I’m always thinking and I enjoy writing. Even now my fingers are getting that itch to type something and my mind is swirling with thoughts and ideas.

A friend suggested I step away just to refresh and renew. We take vacations from work and the daily grind; why not take one from the writing process? So that should explain why there will be no posts for the coming week.

It will certainly be a challenge for me to train myself to clear my thoughts of writing and posting. And I know if I get a story idea I will need to jot it down or risk losing it. But in the end I think it will be a good thing. So thanks for being understanding.

I hope your summer is going well. It has been hot here and the apartment pool has seen a lot of activity by all my fellow renters and their kids. I’ve been staying cool and have been getting some exercise by walking and pedaling my exercycle. I’ve also been keeping track of my blood pressure and it seems to be ok.

Fall is rushing toward us; the days just fly by. Life can get quite hectic. But despite your busy schedule you chose to stop by and check on my site for a few minutes and I really appreciate that. I hope you all have a really good summer and make a lot of enjoyable, lasting memories…

July 11, 2012 June is gone and the heat has arrived 0 (0)

We are in the midst of triple digit weather. These days the apartment complex pool is in use seemingly from sunup to sundown (and beyond). Thankfully I got a new air conditioner installed recently as the compressor had gone out on the old one.

This past month I had a wart on my heel treated (it is virtually healed by now). Mom came down from Montana for a visit and I drove up to Montana to see my sister. Sis and I even bowled a couple of games, reminding me that I have certain leg muscles that I apparently don’t use all the time.

My ex in the nursing home/rehab center is learning the importance of following the nurses’ orders. For instance, she must be careful how she swallows or she risks getting food down into her lungs. And since she has yet to learn to swallow better she is being forced to go back onto an uncomfortable procedure where her trachea is blocked while she eats.

In the meantime, she is being reminded how her balance is still an issue. She has fallen several times, the most recent one occurring last Friday and resulting in a nasty cut on her head and bruises on her hand. She has a walker and must learn to be more careful and to understand that her body has certain weaknesses she must be constantly aware of. But she appreciates my visits and I’m glad I can go over from time to time to put a smile on her face and lift her spirits.

I continue to write new material while finding older stories I have never posted anywhere. And I’ve written several customs for certain individuals, although I haven’t decided if they will all be posted or not. Some may simply remain private projects while others might be suitable for the public if I make a few tweaks and changes to them. It is amazing how many stories I still have in my archives that have yet to be posted!

I hope everyone’s summer is enjoyable and that you are finding ways to keep cool…

May 30, 2012 – Update 0 (0)

I have been reorganizing the Categories page for ease of reading and less confusion. Instead of a number of pages popping up to refer to, readers can now scan the categories all on one page. Links have been added to take you directly to the listing of stories in each category starting with the most recent posting.

Several sub-categories are listed as a series of chapters I have written. I have grouped these separately and left a brief synopsis for each one. I have also included a link for the starting chapter of each series.

I had someone ask me about a series I am currently working on. Sometimes I like to wait until a series is completed before posting it. But the Mr. Wayne series is one I am also currently posting to another forum. I decided I would also post it here while I continue to work on it. But I have other stories still needing to be posted so I tend to mix up what I post in order to give readers a variety to choose from.

Actually I have two other series in my archives. One is incomplete and was partially posted to another forum before a server crash erased those posts. To date I have not finished it and it is not posted anywhere else. Another series is complete but I have yet to post it here.

I tend to think through what I should post next, in what order, and when to post certain stories. Naturally there are some topics that all my readers with their varying backgrounds and interests will not agree upon. Some stories may be objectionable to some but not to others. I am sensitive to those issues and I have stories in my archives that I am still contemplating whether or not to post. It is possible that with some editing I will feel more comfortable allowing the general public to read them, especially since some of them were specifically written for an audience of one.

On a separate note I am seeing a podiatrist today. It seems a corn or wart is growing in the heel of my foot, making walking more painful with each passing day. It is amazing how intricate the human body is and how a little thing can cause such discomfort.

At any rate I hope all of you are healthy and are looking forward to an enjoyable summer. Thanks for visiting the library…

May 3, 2012 – Jury Duty 0 (0)

It is one thing to call the courthouse every day to see if you are required to report for the possibility of jury duty. It is something else entirely when you are seated and end up serving. That is what happened to me on the 1st of May.

A court case in real life is certainly not the same as one portrayed on TV, although there are some similarities. We were seated in the jury box, and during opening and closing statements the attorneys came over and spoke directly to us, similar to what is portrayed on TV. And during the trial the witnesses did wear gloves to handle evidence.

As jurors we were not allowed to discuss the case in any manner until it was given to us for deliberation. That was a challenge as we all had the urge at one time or another to vent what was on our minds. And it is true that a trail takes an emotional toll on an individual. We went home for the night and the next day many reported a mental exhaustion of sitting throughout the afternoon listening to evidence, even though we only heard testimony for little more than three hours.

Deliberations were interesting. All opinions were heard and voting in our case usually occurred by way of upraised hands. We heard a criminal case with two charges and we were pretty much in agreement on one of them. But there was much discussion on the second. Our foreman did a good job making sure each juror was able to speak what was on his or her mind.

The bailiff was extremely helpful, the judge gracious and professional. The attorneys treated us extremely well, even as they tried to present their particular side of the issues. The members of the jury were considerate of each other and I found the whole experience educational and enlightening.

As I listened to the testimony I found that as a writer I was able to listen actively to the presentation of the case. As witnesses presented their testimony I was able to picture it in my mind. And even though it was a case involving something I might have had a natural opinion about in general, I treated my role seriously and focused on the facts presented by the evidence.

Things are not always as cut and dry as they appear, and that went for us as well. What appeared to be obvious to begin with soon resulted in some major discussions as to the evidence and the question of guilt or innocence. Even today I have been deliberating the case in hindsight and I suspect that is what the other jurors have been doing as well.

To sum up, now that I have served on a jury I have a greater appreciation of some of the more notable cases we have heard about in the media throughout the years. Outside the courtroom we have the media reports to sway our opinions. But in the courtroom we are given testimony and must deliberate based on the facts at hand.

There may be some flaws in the system and some verdicts might not come out the way we desire. But in the end we are tried by a jury of our peers based upon the facts presented in court. We took our roles seriously and I believe we treated the defendant with the respect he deserved. If for some reason I find myself in court in front of a jury, I pray they too will give me the same respect…

April 11, 2012 – Update 0 (0)

I did a little tinkering with the categories. I think it’s a male thing… “If it ain’t broke, tinker with it until it is!” My goal – whether I succeed or not – is to make the categories a little more user friendly. We’ll see how this works.

I reorganized the Snuff Club stories, renaming them into a set of series so they lay out together in a little easier format. I starred the original series that started it all so it is placed at the top of the Snuff Club listings. I also set up a separate category for the recent series I am working on.

I may also reorganize the underwater stories. Right now I have a drowning category listed near the top and then farther down I have underwater categories. It might group things better to have all the underwater story categories listed together.

I added a beheading topic and shifted some stories into that category. It is surprising how many people enjoy reading a beheading story. It is not my favorite thing to write about, as you can tell by the number of stories posted here that I lean heavily on drowning and underwater situations. But it is good to branch out and write about other topics. I’ve gotten positive feedback from the people for whom I written the more unusual stories. It encourages me to try a different type of story from time to time.

I appreciate those of you who have taken the time to rate the stories using the ratings system, especially the stories you have enjoyed. Comments and feedback are always welcome. And if you have any thoughts as to how I can better organize the site using categories and tags, feel free to send those as well. You can leave comments in the General comments/contact me page or you can contact me at contactriwa@riwaslibrary.com.

Thanks for stopping by. I hope you continue to enjoy the site…

March 10, 2012 – Update 0 (0)

Things tend to not get done much when one has a cold or the flu, especially in the muscles. I have not felt like uploading anything as sitting at my computer desk can be quite uncomfortable. But I am drinking lots of fluids and I hope to be feeling better soon. It really sucks when you like to write and you don’t even feel like sitting at the keyboard and writing.

Oh well… this too shall pass. At least you now have an explanation for why the library has had posts uploaded so infrequently this past week…

February 24, 2012 Hitting 600 posts 0 (0)

Excluding blog entries I have just hit my 600th post with the uploading of Apartment Neighbors. JustPaul was kind enough to provide a number of renders to illustrate it for me. For that I am grateful as he has provided a number of great renders to help illustrate some stories I’ve uploaded. I really think it adds to the tale when there are pictures to help one visualize the scene.

I’m not just writing stories now. I’ve begun writing scripts for MMP Studios/MMP TV. They do great underwater scenarios related to drowning and scuba diving. I believe this is a good first step toward eventually earning an income based on my writing.

Who knows? Someday I might end up writing scripts for television and movies! I must admit, I’ve seen some movies for television on Cable that I thought I could have written a little better. I suspect it’s just writer’s ego. But who knows? Maybe someday I might even write a book! I think it would be great to make a living based on something I enjoy doing!

As always, I appreciate you stopping by to check in on my stories or to read my blog. With all the places one can visit on the Internet, I am thankful you have chosen to stop here. I hope you enjoy yourself and that you find several stories to your liking…
