So much for checking with you back in September. I didn’t want to bore you and I didn’t think I had much to report other than a nice visit from mom. She told me she likes my apartment, my location, and how close a lot of businesses are within walking distance. We even walked to a fast food place a couple of times.

The ex is doing well, all things considered. I still visit her every week. It is a day she looks forward to, and I try to make her smile and fill her in on how boring my life can be sometimes. But she really appreciates my visits.

She enjoyed the results of the World Series as we both used to live in Kansas City and went to a few games. So I went back over late Saturday night and watched the last few innings of game 4 with her. She really enjoyed that. She is able to get out of her room in a bigger wheelchair now so long as her oxygen goes with her. At least she can go do a few activities now and then.

I didn’t find out until the last minute that the gas company had pulled my meter a couple of years ago. So it took a couple days and some chilly nights before I had gas restored to this apartment. It’s been years if not decades since I’ve had gas heat, and it is an adjustment for me. But the good thing is my computer desk sits close to the heater. I like it when it comes on and blows warm air on me.

Halloween was quiet. I spent the evening doing my laundry over at the laundromat. Surprisingly the place was empty that night. It was amazing; you would have thought there was a national holiday or something keeping people from doing their laundry that evening!

I appreciate the sales I’m having over at the sales site. It is encouraging to know I write stuff that people think is worth paying for. It makes me want to keep writing, and to improve any older stories before I repost them. It also brings in some much needed income to help pay for things around here as I try to keep my vehicle in running order or try to replace a pair of shoes that are literally coming apart at the seams.

Sometimes I make a lot of changes to a story I’m editing by adding a lot of words. And sometimes I discover I did rather well the last time I worked on it. Many times I pour several hours into a story to perfect it as much as possible before I’m comfortable putting it out either here or at the UWFetish store. I’m a firm believer in excellence of effort. If you’re willing to read it then I’d better do my best to perfect it so it can be a nice, enjoyable read with few spelling or grammatical errors.

On a side note, my blood pressure seems to be improving and I am losing weight by walking more and eating less. I don’t always eat right, but at least it is on my mind, and sometimes I make a good healthy choice for lunch. It can be hard to break habits, but it is a lot cheaper to eat better than to pay for a medical procedure because I didn’t eat better.

The holidays are coming and I’m looking forward to this time of year. But sometimes it makes me contemplative as I lost my father to cancer 31 years ago just after the Thanksgiving holiday. Life can be so fragile sometimes. So my hope and prayer for you is that you have a warm and happy holiday season with friends and family as you just never know about these things.

Take care and have a great Thanksgiving. And in case I forget, have a very merry Christmas and a wonderful New Year.

And oh yeah… thanks so much for stopping by. I know you have many choices in surfing the Internet. But it means a lot to me that you stop by and read something here, either by me or one of the other writers who have a story posted here…
