Penny hears a story

August stories/rewards will fall off at the end of September to make room for October rewards.

I fully expected to be gone today, and so did many others. But God was merciful. The bible says his mercies endure forever. He did not bring chaos upon the whole world by taking millions of people home to be with Jesus. Instead, Jesus delayed his coming. For now, He has spared us from his mighty judgment.

Families are still intact. Little children are still with their parents. The economy has not crashed, and there has not been devastating destruction upon the planet… at least not yet. Some people are disappointed, and to be honest, so am I. But then God reminded me how much He loves all of us and that He wants every last one of us to “get on that ark”, so to speak. There is still time for many to get saved. So I had to repent, and I went around last night thanking God that He has given us a little more time.

It’s ok if you laugh and mock me. I’d rather warn you and be mocked than not have warned you at all and simply allowed you to be caught up in the ensuing chaos unawares. That would make me a cruel and inconsiderate human being, and I can’t do that to you. You have blessed me so much over the years by reading my stories when you didn’t have to. So let’s take this as a thankful reprieve, and a chance to warn all our friends and neighbors before time runs out.

So now I get to look forward to having cataract surgery on my eyes in a couple weeks. As I sit here at my desk, I see three pairs of glasses lying around as a fourth pair sits upon my face. I change pairs often: when I go outside and when I get up in the morning. When the print is small like this is, I find myself looking for the pair that best magnifies the words. My right eye has rebelled, so my right lens on each new pair of glasses gets thicker and thicker. I keep using my finger to push them back up onto my nose because of the growing weight. It’s all kind of ridiculous, so it will be nice to get my eyes working better. But I’ll have a week or so of taking it easy and allowing them to heal after surgery in October.

Anyway, it’s time for me to get back to work. I hope you enjoy the stories I’ve come up with for you this next month. My role here is to keep writing for you to give you a distraction in the midst of all the crazy things that are happening in this world. And we certainly saw some heart-rending things this last month, didn’t we? I’m just concerned we’re going to keep seeing much, much worse until Jesus calls us home off our temporary dwelling upon this sinful rock.

Please take very good care of yourselves and your families, and I’ll get back to writing. And I’ll keep organizing mom’s pills and going out to eat with her like we did yesterday until that chaotic day finally comes upon this planet. And as always, thank you so very much for being my patrons. I’m humbled, and I can’t believe how blessed I am to have all of you as a part of my Patreon family.
