An unhappy wife
She was wearing that shirt again, the one with the unhappy smiley face. It really irritated him. She knew he hated it, and it made him wonder how long it was going to be before she divorced him and took him for everything he had. That would include the house as well as their yacht now anchored offshore.
He walked by as she lay out on deck. She gave him a contemptuous look. Then she told him, “I think I’ll go for a swim.”
“Don’t ruin your favorite shirt, darling.”
“Don’t worry; it won’t shrink.” She smirked at the face he made.
He went below and quickly geared up. If she was going to get in the water this might be his chance. But it wouldn’t surprise him if she didn’t get wet all as she frequently told him one thing and then did something entirely different just to annoy him. At least he could enjoy a nice dive without her.
He checked to see if she was watching. Then he quietly went over the side on the other part of the yacht in his scuba gear. Already he felt better; it was as though he could feel his blood pressure settling back down.
There was a sudden splash in the water. He turned to see his wife was a good 15 feet below the surface. The silly bitch must have jumped off an upper deck and hit feet first.
Instinctively he moved toward her as she swam for the surface. His heart beat fast. Did he really want to do this? Perhaps an accidental drowning was just the ticket to set him free and give him a start to a new life.
He saw her sculling up at the surface, and he hesitated. Then she jackknifed and swam downward. He hovered near the yacht to stay out of her line of sight. But it looked like she hadn’t seen him.
She swam down to thirty feet, nearing the bottom before turning and heading back to the surface. That’s when he made his move. He swam after her, finning hard to reach her.
He grabbed an ankle before she could surface. Then he started pulling her downward. The silly bitch looked more annoyed than anything else when she saw who it was. Hell, she probably didn’t even think he had it in him.
He pulled her down toward the bottom. Now her face morphed into one of anger… “Let me go, you bastard. Now I’ve got a long swim back up.” He just held on tighter.
She grunted and bubbled as she tried to pull for the surface. He just held onto her ankle with an iron grip. Then her face morphed from anger to panic to desperation.
She shook her head and bubbled, frantically shaking her head. Then she started thrashing about as panic set in. She began gulping water, hitching and bubbling as she blew the last of her air from her lungs.
She let out a bubbly cry as she hitched and gurgled. She convulsed painfully as she swallowed water, her eyes wide in shock. He just held on grimly until she stopped struggling. Then he let her go.
Instead of rising to the surface, she sank to the bottom. He watched her settle onto her back, her body twitching a little. He looked at her as her breasts pushed through that shirt he despised. But now it made him smile. For the first time since she’d bought it he thought the face showed the perfect reaction to her present condition.

The river
It was so hot the radio said they were setting a record high for several cities in the state. Janise lived a mile and a half from the river, but 25 miles from the nearest public pool. And using the hose was just not cutting it.
She hoped into her Chevy Nova and drove to the river, her mother’s multiple warnings already ringing in her ears. She had no intention of taking any chances. She just wanted to find a little section where she could cool off… perhaps submerge a couple of times.
She saw she wasn’t the only one who’d made the decision to drive to this spot. There were others in the water, some getting close to the channel. She recognized Ruby and Zoe in their respective red and maroon bikinis.
She found a spot to park, pulled out her towel and dropped it near the water’s edge. Then she waded in to join them. It felt refreshing, although it seemed warmer than she was used to. Was that due to the extremely hot weather they were having?
Ruby and Zoe were having fun splashing each other while occasionally dunking the other. “Hey, here comes Janise!” And with that she was pushed under water.
She bubbled before she fought her way back up. She burst up laughing as she gave Zoe a taste of her own medicine. It felt good being in the water.
They had the spot to themselves as they dunked each other. It seemed they wanted to be forced under by the others. It felt good to be submerged in cool water to avoid the oppressive heat.
Janise felt the tug of the current, causing her to wade back into shallow water. Zoe laughed at her as she was pushed under again. She had to fight to keep her lime green bikini covering her parts as her friends could be a little too playful at times.
She saw Ruby venture out a little farther into the river. She started to cry out a warning, but her friend was already swimming back. She was either playing around or had gotten pulled out by the current by mistake.
By now it was just them and two couples 100 yards away in the little inlet. Janise would have preferred that area to avoid the current. But Ruby and Zoe were right here acting as though it was totally fine.
“Cool off, Janise!” Ruby laughed as she was pushed under again. She held her breath and swam between her friend’s legs. Then she pulled her under, delighted to hear a cry followed by a burst of bubbles.
When she surfaced, Zoe asked who could hold her breath the longest. Ruby said she was best while Janise told them she could hold it pretty good. “Last one up wins!” Zoe declared.
They all took a deep breath and submerged. Janise found the muddy bottom and stuck her toes in to help keep her down. She could just make out Ruby a few feet away in that red bikini.
She did better than she’d anticipated. By the time she surface her friends were already gasping for breath. “That’s not fair!” Zoe declared. “You cheated!”
“How did I cheat? I went down the same as you did!”
“I want to do it again.”
“Fine.”
They all started taking deep breaths again. Then they submerged together. Janise couldn’t see Ruby, but she could just make out Zoe’s maroon outfit that really showed off her cleavage.
She tried to dig her toes into the mud and missed. She tried once more and barely snagged the bottom. But there was a little current that pulled her loose again.
Janise tried harder, once more digging her toes into the muddy soil. Did it feel like she had to go a little deeper to find the bottom? It also felt like the current was a little stronger here.
Janise looked around for her friends. But she couldn’t see either bikini underwater. Had they drifted downstream? Wait a minute: had SHE drifted downstream??
She swam upward, only to discover it wasn’t as easy as it should have been. She lost a lot of air trying to get there. By then she was sure she was no longer in the safety of their little swimming hole.
She got her head up, only to see she’d drifted a couple hundred yards downstream. Her friends were looking for her but they weren’t looking this far downriver. Then the current dragged her back under.
She burbled in alarm as she tried to regain the surface. Instinctively she found herself swimming against the current, desperately trying to get back to where she belonged. But she only succeeded in being swept further downstream.
She fought to reach the surface, bursting up and gasping for breath. There was no sign of her friends or their swimming hole. Then the current pulled her under again.
Janise began to panic as she fought to regain the surface. The current was strong; was she in the middle of the river? How the hell had she allowed this to happen to her??
She clawed for the surface, only to get her lips and forehead out of the water for a quick breath before she was pulled back under. She could feel the panic starting to rise within her. She wanted the shore… desperately wanted to go back home!
She fought once more to get back to the surface. But the current seemed to be fighting to keep her under. It was as though it was trying to hide its prize, not wanting anyone to know what it had captured in its lethal grip.
Janise struggled for all she was worth to get there. Once more her mouth barely broke the surface. She managed a quick breath before she was pulled back under.
She was in the middle of the channel; she knew that now. She also knew the stories of the fishermen who had fallen out of their boats and drowned. Two bodies had never been recovered… and they had drowned last year!
Janise began to panic. It was dark and murky; she couldn’t see the surface. She tried to go with the current to make it easier, but that only seemed to take her deeper.
Her lungs began to heave as she thrashed about. Panic swelled within her. She held her breath for as long as she could. But the river was tumbling her around now as though deliberately trying to drown her.
She swallowed a little water, causing her to clamp her hands over her mouth. But it was too late. She gurgled as she tried to inhale. Then she was swallowing like crazy as her windpipe closed off.
Janise hitched and gurgled as she kept swallowing water. She felt herself going deeper and deeper into the river. Would she ever be found? Would her mother ever have a body to bury?
She was dimly aware of experiencing an orgasm as she hitched and shuddered. Her eyes opened wide in shock. Then she went limp, condemned to the journey the river was taking her on. Ruby and Zoe would continue their search. But by then it became clear their friend had been caught up in the current and dragged away…
