Mom has her hearing aid now. I can tell when she\u2019s wearing it and when she\u2019s not. If I can hear the TV outside her house when I arrive, she obviously has not put them in her ears yet. I would think she would wear them all the time. But that is not the case. The older she gets, the more I have to learn about her new quirks. But I\u2019m grateful I still have her around.<\/p>\n
It feels like spring around here, even though we\u2019ve recently passed the first day of summer. We\u2019ve had very few days that have reached 80 degrees. And it feels like it has rained almost every day. Some people have had a hard time getting their lawns mowed. And some lawns are under a few inches of water. They recently used a pump to drain the infield of the ball field at the school, only for yesterday\u2019s rain to flood it all over again. So when I walk around town, I find myself checking out which lawns really need mowing, and what yards are too damp or have too much water to mow.<\/p>\n
It\u2019s hard to believe we\u2019re already about to enter July. School\u2019s been out for a month. And before you know it, fall will approach and the kids will be heading back. How did I get so old so fast? Maybe it would be better if I spent the time working on stories instead of questioning how this year is going to come to an end so fast.
